Tax Exemption Workshop
Description:
Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D – Freeport), in conjunction with the Nassau County Department of Assessment, invites First Legislative District residents to participate in the ongoing 2022 series of Property Tax Exemption Workshops. During the workshops, Department of Assessment staff will assist residents with filing for the following exemptions:
- Veterans
- Senior citizens
- Cold War Veterans
- Volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers
- Limited-income disability and/or home improvement exemptions
- Enhanced STAR applications will also be processed for homeowners already enrolled in the STAR program prior to Jan. 2, 2015.
The next workshop is Friday, October 21, 2022, from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Participants should bring copies of their 2021 federal and state income tax returns and other required documentation with them to workshops; for a complete list, visit https://www.nassaucountyny.
